Cinema After Corona: with filmmaker Vijaykumar Mirchandani, USA

Indian-born and award-winning filmmaker Vijaykumar Mirchandani is now residing in New York after a long journey from his homeland as he lived and worked in eight different countries and for several renowned networks including CNBC, ART, UBI World, Aljazeera & Alhurra. 

A firm believer in giving back to the community by supporting on humanitarian issues that matter, during the COVID-19 epidemic he took the leap of faith in producing a short film on bigotry on Asian Americans “Love Can’t Be Locked Down” which was recently screened on an online festival Escapist Cinema of South Asia.

His Italian short film under the LGBTQ genre “Paese Che Vai - When in Rome” bagged a selection in the Academy Award® Qualifying Indy Shorts Film Festival, BAFTA Qualifying Frameline44 Film Festival and was screened during the SF Pride weekend from June 25-28. It was also selected for Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase 2020.  It has picked 3 awards Best Story, Best Writing & Best Twist at TOP Indie Awards.
