Ontario International Film Festival (ONIFF) opens online October 16, 2020

Around
150 films from 50 countries streaming on ONIFF.Eventive.Org

The first edition
of Ontario International Film Festival (ONIFF) is opening on the 16^th
of October 2020 showcasing international films, Q&A, online panels and much more till the 25^th of October
2020

The festival’s
organizers decided to go completely online via the renowned Eventive.Org
platform as a result of the challenging COVID-19 circumstances that prevented
filmmakers to travel and audience to attend theatrical screening. Online viewers will experience not only more
than 150 films from 50 countries, but also will have the chance to view and
join Q&As with participating filmmakers, online filmmaking panels and the
opening and closing ceremony live on the festival’s YouTube, Facebook and
Linkedin pages…

Rasha Asfur, the
festival’s founder, said that ONIFF will be a special ten-day artistic
celebration of cinema and creativity around the world. She was happily surprised
by the number of submitted films to the first edition that reached more than
500 films.

Elaine Grant, VP
and co-founder, added that this online first edition is considered by the
festival’s board as a professional rehearsal for a live and bigger event comes
2021 hopefully.

Khaled Hammad,
co-founder, also added that ONIFF supports promising cinematic experiences in
Canada and the whole world by showcasing filmmaking especially independent
works in accordance with the intercultural diversity, which is the main motto
of the festival.

Online viewers can
watch and also vote for their best film on ONIFF.Eventive.Org

This year, ONIFF
will consist of eight different competitions
